Vanessa Williams is stepping back into the role of Days of our Lives' Valerie Grant, who's got some strong words of advice for her son, Eli (Lamon Archey).

Nobody cleans up messes like mamas, especially smart mamas like Days of our Lives' Valerie Grant. And when it comes to cleaning up messes of the heart, well, that's a good one for Valerie, too, since she specializes in cardiology. That's why, as her son, Eli (Lamon Archey), prepares for his wedding with Gabi (Camila Banus), she's the perfect person to return to Salem.

Vanessa Williams will be returning to the role of DAYS' Valerie for Eli and Gabi's wedding later this month, and the fictional doctor is said to have quite an opinion about how her son's love life has turned out. Rumor has it she has a better idea of who Eli should be with -- Lani (Sal Stowers) -- but will her son heed her romantic advice?

Williams first took on the role of Valerie in October of 2016, when the cardiologist came back to Salem to help save Abe's (James Reynolds) life. She left the role in 2018, when Valerie took a job as chief of staff at her old hospital in Washington, DC. The character was last seen in Salem in May 2019, when she returned to town to visit Abe, whom she'd been dating long-distance, and found out that he had kissed Sheila Watkins (Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins) in her absence. Valerie broke up with Abe over the indiscretion and hasn't been seen since.

At this time, it's unclear if Valerie will be crossing paths with Abe while she's in town or if her return visit will revolve solely around Eli and his romantic life. Fans will have to keep tuning in to Days of our Lives to find out!
