Get ready for some trippy news, Days of our Lives fans: Lucas Adams is stepping back into the role of Steve and Ava's son, Tripp Dalton.

Days of our Lives fans have been bombarded with a slew of exits over the course of 2020, but things are taking a turn for the better with a long slate of returns, as well. Hot on the heels of positive casting news for actors like Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez), Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez), A Martinez (Eduardo Hernandez), and Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) comes word that Lucas Adams is reprising his role as Tripp Dalton.

Soaps.com reports that the actor will be stepping back into the role of Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and deceased mafia princess Ava Vitali's (Tamara Braun) son this September. As fans may recall, Lucas was last seen in 2019, at which point he left town for medical school.

There's no word yet on what brings Lucas back to Salem, but rumors are swirling that he could possibly be Allie Horton's (Lindsay Arnold) baby daddy. Fans will have to keep tuning in to DAYS to find out!

Since leaving DAYS last year, Lucas has gone on to appear in the films Kidnapped by a Classmate and American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules. He's also proud of a movie that he wrapped in 2019 that gave him the chance to flex his villain muscles.

"It's called Confessional, and I play a terrible human being in this movie," Adams told Soap Central last year. "So, that was really nice to do. I'm not a good person. It's like the epitome of misogyny -- not a good person at all. But it was really fun getting to play this villainous-style character, and I thought it turned out really well on-screen. I was really happy about that."
